M*A*S*H (MASH)
One of the world's most acclaimed comedies, M*A*S*H focuses on three Korean War Army surgeons brilliantly brought to life by Donald Sutherland, Tom Skerritt and Elliott Gould. Though highly skilled and deeply dedicated, they adopt a hilarious, lunatic lifestyle as an antidote to the tragedies of their Mobile Army Surgical Hospital, and in the process infuriate Army bureaucrats. Robert Duvall, Gary Burghoff and Sally Kellerman co-star as a sanctimonious Major, an other-worldly Corporal, and a self-righteous yet lusty nurse.

Ok, MASH isn't your typical movie. It's basically just a whole bunch of vignettes or sequences about army surgeons in the Korean war. Lots of high-jinx and stupid jokes ensue. MASH certainly has its moments, but moments do not make a good movie. For fans of the movie, I'd really like them to tell me what the hell this movie is about. If you're dying to see something about army surgeons, just go watch the MASH TV show.Mash - jaysmom
Recently we rewatched this movie. We had forgotten how hilarious it was. Lots of the characters and actors from the tv series in it. We loved the series and this movie. Too bad they would not remake this film. Decided to watch this before starting the series. Highly recommend to watch this film .Works better today than it did originally - AndrewInOttawa
Having seen this movie at least five times since it came out I wasn't expecting to see/feel/think any differenty about this on my six time. Whoa! It had more of an effect on me than any of the previous viewing.
I always felt that the movie was about the Vietnam War and was easier to release with the subject being veiled under the "Korean War" to get it through. Having been able to watch this copy with the special features and commentary helped to fill out my thoughts and ideas about what the film was and what it was meant to represent.
M*A*S*H still works today as well as yesterday. It has aged magnificiently and still speaks to the horror's of War, the humanity and inhumanity that takes place and also brings humour that can still be found and appreciated in all it's forms. I highly recommend this to any interested at all whether you've seen it before or not.
