Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome
Two men enter. One man leaves.
Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome stars Mel Gibson for his third go-round as the title hero who takes on the barbarians of the post-nuclear future- and this time becomes the savior of a tribe of lost children. Music superstar Tina Turner steals what's left of the screen as Aunty Entity, a power-mad dominatrix determined to use Max to tighten her stranglehold on Bartertown.

While I enjoyed Mad Max and The Road Warrior significantly more, this third installment to the series was great fun to watch. The action sequences are not as brilliant as those seen in The Road Warrior, but the general premise of survival in a post apolocolyptic wasteland is not lost and this movie does that genre justice. Do yourself a favor and watch this film (and the whole series).Just Plain GREAT!! - xsnrg
For those of you who have seen the first Mad Max, I might go as far as to say that I liked this film more than the first one. Again, there is non-stop action, but the acting is definitely better and I loved the sets. For those of you who like the first one, you HAVE to watch this one as well...you won't be dissapointed.Very good sequel, again - Coconut_Willy
No more low budget affair; this is an all out big production, complete with its own town, lots of extras, animals. You name it, it's here. The storyline, although much deeper than its 2 predecessors, is still a bit disjointed but brings a lot more to the table. Part barbarian movie, part Peter Pan rip-off, it gives the cast a chance to play more interesting characters than the over-simplistic good vs evil ones featured in the first installments. The cast is now comprised of a few familiar faces doing a fair acting job with an often odd dialogue. Mel Gibson, for one, has a much better opportunity to display his acting talent. The sets and locations are great, the soundtrack is superb and the camera work is sometimes quite impressive. It still has some great action scenes and chases but this one is more than just that. Very good.
