Major League II
America's Favorite Team Is Back!
They're back -- and better than ever! The diehard Cleveland Indians who went from worst to first now cope with fame and its perks as the team tries to hit, hustle and joke its way back to the top.
Reckless thrower Rick "Wild Thing" Vaughn (Charlie Sheen), catcher Jake Taylor (Tom Berenger), self-absorbing infielder Roger Dorn (Corbin Bernsen), slugger Pedro Cerrano (Dennis Haysbert) and more are in for a whole new ballgame in this hilarious sequel. Harry Doyle (Bob Uecker) is back in the booth with colorful play-by-ply, team owner Rachel Phelps (Margaret Whitton) schemes to the hilt and Randy Quaid joins the lineup as a marvelously motor-mouthed bleacher bum. Major League II is major fun!

I don't know why the harsh rating, I mean, despite the fact that a few actors were replaced, I thought that Major League 2 was a decent comedy. Separated from the first, I think more people would give it a chance. How could you not laugh at the buddist out fielder? He was hilarious! I liked how they showed that most of the guys changed, it was so human and added a real story.
The boys are back for the next season, this time Rachel has sold the team to Roger and he is in charge. The boys have all changed though, mainly Rick, who has lost his "wild thing" edge. The boys this time want to make it to the world series, but that's going to be hard since most of them have taken their fame to their heads. Rachel buys the team back and the boys finally decide to get themselves together and get to the world series!
Major League 2 is a good comedy if you just let go of the first one, I know that most don't want to since the first was so original and a great comedy as well, but just give it a shot as it's own movie. It has some really funny moments that I loved a lot.Resting On Thier Previous Success - kav2001c
The Cleveland Indians are back to defend thier surprising Eastern Division pennant (before falling in the ALCS to the Chicago White Sox)
Thier new owner (retired player Dorn) has even opened up the vault bringing in highly paid free agent Jack Parkman (who hates the Indians but likes the money they offer; he plays a great villian and is the best thing about this sequel)
Unfortunatly many Indian regulars have lost thier edge and the team starts off almost as bad as the previous season
Vaughan can no longer throw his fastball and seems more interested in commercial endorsements than baseball
Taylor is washed up as a catcher
Cerrano has given up Voodoo to follow the peaceful ways of a Buddhist monk
Hayes has become a B list action film star
And the new blood is unable to help the team as Baker cant throw the ball back to the mound and Tanaka plays his odd kamikaze style in the outfield
