Mannequin
"A screwball love story!" -The Washington Post
A charming romantic comedy starring Andrew McCarthy (Pretty in Pink), Kim Cattrall ("Sex and the City"), Meshach Taylor ("Designing Women"), Estelle Getty ("The Golden Girls") and James Spader (Stargate), Mannequin is more than the sum of its fiberglass body parts... it's all heart!
Jonathan Switcher (McCarthy) has certainly been living up to his name. A frustrated artist, he switches from one dead-end job to another, never managing to hold on to any of them. But all of that changes when a mannequin he created for a department store window comes magically to life! Gorgeous and statuesque, this fiberglass femme fatale (Cattrall) helps Jonathan turn his career around, inspiring him to be the best window dresser in town. But she soon discovers that the real world isn't so easy, when they run into competitors who want to put them out of the business - for good!

Oh so funny - jmjworek
This movie is hilarious! It's just so horrible and ridiculous that it's funny. First of all the premise of a famous window dresser is laughable. Then the sexual innuendo, which is really not so subtle, is at many times just wrong and offensive, but still in a comical way. This movie is not a good movie, per se, but at times it's just so bad it's good!Mannequin - Alex8
I realize by all the lofty opinions of the varied and sundry critics that I really shouldn't like this movie. Well guess what girls & guys it has no message, very few special effects, poor writing etc., but it is entertaining & I liked it. You see that is why I watch movies, to be entertained. If I want a great story, I read a book.Oh those crazy 80s. - cathyottawa
I like the disparaging descriptor for this film. Yeah, it's pretty dopey...but it's also kind of fun, in a goofy way. Even though it took itself seriously at the time, now, it plays almost like an old Jim Carey movie - all over the top and tongue in cheek. I laughed alot - but not at things they intended to be funny.
This is a real 80s timecapsle as far as the fashions and hair styles and musical score. I liked James Spader as a stereotypical corporate weasel.
If you're in the need for an 80s fix, this might do the trick.
