Marvin's Room
Hollywood's fastest rising star, Leonardo DiCaprio (Titanic, Celebrity), gives an electrifying performance as the criminally rebellious son in this funny and stirring tale of one family's humor and heartache. Seventeen years ago, fiercely independent Lee ((Meryl Streep - One True Thing) left home... and left behind her kindhearted sister Bessie (Diane Keaton - The First Wives Club) to care for their father, Marvin (Hume Cronyn). But now Lee is returning with her teenage son (Leonard DiCaprio) for a homecoming that's sure to turn the entire household upside down! Also starring Robert DeNiro(Casino), this entertaining motion picture proves that people you know the least may be the ones you need the most!

Diane Keaton and Meryl Streep were great in here, as they usually are in anything they do on the silver screen. They played off each, with opposite characters, so beautifully that it made for a great movie-watching experience.
I have never been a fan of Leo, but he is good here. That was before he started doing that laughable tough guy facial mug he serves in every movie now.
All in all, a very touching movie about family.Great Cast... - cathyottawa
...Ho hum script.
This is a story about family; about how families can come together in times of crisis, and how even the most strained relationships can be healed.
And, well, that's about all the underwhelming life lessons you're going to get from this cheezy, disneyized flick. It's the stellar cast alone that sets this film apart from your typical Hallmark TV movie of the week.
I'm not sure what it was that attracted this cast - especially Robert DeNiro, who's totally wasted here in a small, rather insignificant role.
I guess each character on it's own is interesting, but this story just falls flat.Streep and Keaton - FilmJunkie
This is a pretty good movie about family during times of crisis.
Leo Dicaprio plays the angry youth he would use in 'This Boy's Life' and 'The Basketball Diaries'. He is good, but outclassed by the ladies around him.
Diane Keaton plays the sick and motherly sister who has been left to care for her father, while the bombastic and b*tchy sister (Meryl Streep) went out and got herself a family.
Keaton is good, Streep great. The plot is a bit TV movie sometimes, but it is a moving story.
