Meet The Parents
Male nurse Greg Focker (Ben Stiller) is poised to propose to his girlfriend Pam (Teri Polo) during a weekend stay at her parents' home. But here's the catch... he needs to ask her father first. Alas, the fur flies as Jack Byrnes, Pam's cat-crazy, ex-CIA father, played hysterically by Academy Award winner Robert DeNiro, takes an immediate dislike to her less-than truthful beau. Greg's quest for approval gets seriously sidetracked as Murphy's Law takes over and a hilarious string of mishaps turns him into a master of disaster and total pariah in the eyes of the entire family... all except for his shell-shocked girlfriend, who can't believe she still loves her one-man wrecking crew.
Meet The Parents, from the director of Austin Powers, is an uproarious blockbuster hit that bombards you with one laugh after another, as true love tries to conquer all, against all odds.

Meet The Parents is funny because its filled with tons of awkward embarrassing moments - moviemonger
A very funny movie that is able to combine a great premise with ideal actors, laugh out scenes with a sentimental touch and over the top sequences with a believable story line. Go see this movie and laugh! See it with your parents and join in the fun. See it with your better half and remark on the similarities. See it with your brother, your sister, you cat for God's sakes, most "people" should be able to identify and appreciate this film. And even though I love toilet humor as much as the next guy, I have to admit that it was nice to see a movie that despite some "easy" dirty jokes (one excellent running gag was the use of the Stiller character's last name during the entire feature, spelled f-o-c-k-e-r), relied mostly on sight gags, physical comedy and finely tuned humorous moments. I enjoyed this entire movie from start to finish. It's funny when it has to be, hilarious when it needs to be and even touching as it nears conclusion. Many memorable lines, many funny moments with the cat (cat haters beware!) and an overall good time. Don't go in expecting the world to bowl you over with this but do expect to be thoroughly entertained. Thumbs way up, folks!Hysterical, Funny, Wacky, Silly, Laugh yourself out of your chair. - KWNightwalker
Who ever thought Robert DeNiro would be in a funny movie....Mr.Serious himself...but wait he make this movie very funny with Ben Sitler. Ben charter name is Gaylord Focker...which is funny in its on right.
So listen folks you need a good laugh, get this movie. I don't want to give away to much of the story....but rent it today for a laugh. And then the the next film Met the Fockers....just as funny...but I am sorry to say it...the new film that just came out the Little Fockers...very boring and not as funny.Ben Stiller always at his best! - Revolutionary_Bum
Robert DeNiro and Ben Stiller not-so surprisingly good match! DeNiro plays a classic Italian/tough parent who never wants to see his baby grow up. And of course, Stiller always seem to play the clumsy and unlucky guy so incredibly well. This is a great comedy and easy to watch a few more times after the first. The sequel is as good, but the humor in the first one is more unexpected. This movie is for sure one of my favorite comedies.
