Getting right to the technical stuff. Picture quality is good and the sound is very good, but not the best I've heard and therefore, not excellent. McDonald gives it his best in this concert and he's in fine voice. However, he tries too hard and that is very evident shortly after the 3rd song or so!. The first song "on my own" is great!. Starts off quiet and then escalates a la Celene Dion to infinity and beyond. It actually works the first time but then after that, all the songs start and finish that way. Too much really...too loud....too much energy in each and every song. This guy has got a lot of musicians on stage which doesn't help the 'too much' aspect of the sound. The finale is just the same. Everybody comes on stage and sings their hearts out.
Don't get me wrong here. I liked the concert but I think that they should have simmered down on a few songs to allow people to catch their breath and give their ears a rest!. Michael's got a great voice that was pushed too hard and largely drowned out in many numbers.
For that, I give it 2/5 stars only.
Now on to my next concert...George Benson...Stay tuned!!
