My Fair Lady
Best Oscar winner Rex Harrison reprises his signature stage role of Henry Higgins, the supremely assured phoeneticist who wagers that under his tutelage, cockney flower girl Eliza Doolittle can pass for a duchess at the Embassy Ball. In one of her best loved roles, Audrey Hepburn plays Eliza. If ever there was a face the professor could grow accustomed to, it's hers.

Audrey Hepburn and Rex Harrison were made for the parts of Eliza Doolittle and Henry Higgins in this wry look at the British class system. Their onscreen chemistry is further enhanced by great sets, amazing costumes and one of the most recognizable collections of songs from any musical. Unfortunately, three hours worth of cotton candy proved to be a bit much for me and I found my finger hovering over the “skip” button about halfway through. A real treat for die-hard fans though. The rain in spain stays mainly in the plain - hilkayaker
Love Audrey Hepburn!! She is amazing in this movie, even if she isn't singing herself. But it would be awesome for Liza to give Mr. Higgins what's coming to him at the end of the movie instead of going back to him. Not a good message to girls about appropriate relationships, but it is still an amazing movie and I am sure everyone knows that isn't how things are done now!!! Recomend it to everyone, you will be singing the songs all day : ) "I should have danced all night"Great movie, great music, great memories - Coconut_Willy
I can't say that I am a big fan of musicals but I have seen a lot of the classics that were produced in the '50s and '60s as my parents loved them and would play the soundtracks on vinyl all the time. My Fair Lady is certainly one of the best that was ever made. The storyline is very good and is well developed into an almost 3 hour long movie. It is obvious that by today's standards, this would be considered politically incorrect and demeaning to women but keep in mind that this is setup in the early 1900's and it probably depicts very well the reality of that era. The cast is fabulous doing an excellent acting job with a very good dialogue. The sets and locations are also excellent with a number of scenes actually set as if it took place on a theater stage. The soundtrack is also fabulous and is certainly one of my favorite ones. If you have 3 hours to spare on a rainy afternoon, this comes highly recommended. You will be delighted by the charms of this lovely movie and the splendor of a classic big production from another era.
