Nashville
Robert Altman's Nashville is an explosive drama and a human comedy that delineates and interweaves the lives of 24 major characters during five days in the country music capital of the world. Although its setting is Tennessee, Nashville is a much broader vision of our culture, a penetrating and multi-level portrait of America at a particular time and place. Five Academy Award nominations including Keith Carradine's Oscar-winning song "I'm Easy."

Not a Friday night movie....Zzzzzzzz - Sunset
I fell asleep 20 minutes in. Plus i hated the annoying van with the loud announcements that kept waking me up.
My husband however really liked the movie. There is no accounting for some people's taste...
From what I saw of it it seemed like an okay movie if you like something slow paced and with little plot.Altman's Second Best - FilmJunkie
A brilliant sweeping 70's social epic about the title city amidst country music stars and political elections. If you like music and great performances you should absolutely see this ambitious and beautiful film. Robert Altman has left us quite a legacy. Best scene: "I'm Easy", trust me...Lily Tomlin will break your heart.A Portrait of America - Eustus
Those seeking a brilliant, easy to follow narrative, this is not the film for you.
Made during the US Bicentennial, this film is intended to be a portrait of America. When you consider what a daunting task that is - to represent a nation of 300 million people in the microchasm of the country music scene, you get a better sense as to why, on the surface, the film is so chaotic and disjointed.
As the layers unfold, what is revealed is a less than flattering picture of a society at it's 200th birthday. The film does a brilliant job of portraying the good, the bad, and the ugly that the United States has to offer all of her citizens - from politics, to morality, to class and everything else in between.
