National Lampoon's Animal House
Double Secret Probation Edition
One of the most popular movie comedies of all time is also the film that made John Belushi a star. This raunchy, screwball comedy directed with madcap zest by John Landis offers a relentless spoof of 1960's college life by following the hilarious adventures of the Delta fraternity. In addition to Belushi as Bluto Blutarsky, the oustanding cast includes Tim Matheson, Tom Hulce, Stephen "Flounder" Furst, Karen Allen, Donald Sutherland, Peter Riegert and Kevin Bacon, along with Otis Day and the Knights with their showstopping performance of "Shout."

Marion Ravenwood? Anyways. Not one of the best comedies of all time, as the hype suggests, but it's a bit of a minor classic. John Belushi kind of makes it golden single handedly, but it's generally just fun to hang around with these guys for a few hours.Toga Toga Toga! - kav2001c
Seems a bit tame by todays standards (even comparing it to some era films) but this is recognized as the one that started it all. The first big college film that is still to this day being imitated. The older audience will have far more of a connection to the film. Features an all star cast with many up and comers mixed in with film stalwarts.
The plot centres around an obnoxious fraternity Delta house who the dean wants to kick off campus. Bad grades, gross jokes, and parties abound.Even after all these years, Animal House is the king of college comedies! - sinic
Every college comedy that was released after Animal House borrows so heavily from all of the gags and never achieves the same level of greatness. The pranks and jokes throughout the movie are as funny today as they were in the late 70s.
Classic John Belushi craziness makes it seem like he wasn't acting ... rather living out a day in his life on screen. Certain parts of the movie may seem tame by today's raunchier standards, but the laughs are much better.
Loved the DVD and the extras were great!
