Nightmares
You'll Never Be The Same
Somewhere between the real and the unreal, between the world of daylight and the dark of night, between the peaceful sleep of dreams and the endless sleep of death... lay "Nightmares." Four twisted tales of terror directed by veteran filmmaker Joseph Sargent (The Taking of Pelham 1-2-3), originally produced for television but considered "too intense" for the small screen by network censors. English:Mono.

HASN'T AGED WELL - Craigo
Originaly made for TV, this was released in theatres because it was a little too strong for television. Turns out it's a little too weak for it's R-rating,so it ends up in a kind of purgatory. Nothing special, but it's at least watchable if you're running low on horror films from the 80's you've never seen before. Badly dated in most areas, most notably in the story of an arcade kid who battles a game he can't ever seem to beat. Not scary - Rob6239
The trailer for this film states that every year you see a film you've never heard of, but that you will never forget. Apparently Nightmares was supposed to be that film.
Maybe it was more frightening to watch 20 years ago when this first came out. Two of the four chapters depend solely on the special effects to make the stories scary, but twenty years later, the effects are laughable.
