Nobody's Fool
Worn To Perfection.
In his 40th year of moviemaking, Paul Newman added another milestone portrayal to his career in "Nobody's Fool", a luminous slice-of-life story set in a blue-collar upstate New York town and laced throughout with humor and heart.
Newman, earning an Oscar nomination plus Best Actor honors from the National Society of Film Critics, plays Sully, a likable working stiff who's made a lifetime of bad decisions. But he unexpectedly has a chance to make right on some of them when his estranged son - and grandson - drop into his life.
Melanie Griffith and Jessica Tandy, in one of her final roles, are among the talented costars of this engaging film honored on numerous 1994 Ten Best Lists.

This is a vert good movie. While thin on plot and thick on themes, this film is not for your popcorn audience. If you're a fan of family dramas (and the actual drama genre), this is the one for you. As always, Newman can carry a film, no matter what.classic newman - The_Jack
Paul Newman steals the show with simply playing a down to earth father/grandfather/friend
the casting director deserves a big nod for this film, every role and actor nails their performances and the story moves along so eloquently, that at the end, you wish the movie would continue telling their storiessimply great - blackstone
I am always amazed when a person reviewing this movie will complain that nothing really happens. No flowing plot, action, or detailed storyline. It amazes me! I can't think of a recent movie that has as many memorable scenes... or touching moments. To me, there is so much going on in this movie that I feel if I turn away from the screen for just a second, I'll miss something wonderfull and important.
Based on the wonderful novel by Richard Russo, everything in this movie is done right. Paul Newman was nominated for an oscar for his great performance, but other noms could have easily went to Bruce Willis (his finest role), Jessica Tandy (her last role), and Melanie Griffith. I really believe that this one of the finest movie ever made about small town characters, and how you can never judge a man by appearance only.
Worn to perfection indeed!
