good action movie - TMTH
Lots of action and convoluted plans. Jonny depp does a great job on his character. Liked the plot and kept me in suspense through the whole movie. Really liked the hidden weapons in guitar cases and Johnny depps fake arm contraption. A little unbelievable at times but still a good movie.A great shoot 'em up! - NightMayor
While the plot of Once Upon A Time in Mexico is rather convoluted, if you watch it purely as an action flick, it's absolutely outstanding. The subtle use of basic CGI techniques really adds alot to the film and makes the gunfights alot more etertaining. Johnny Depp delivers yet another outstanding performance (I haven't seen him do anything less) and Antonio Banderas does a great job playing a cold, calculated revenge machine. Eva Mendes does great in the few scenes she recieves and Salma Hayek, as always, commands attention. A great film, with great action scenes.A fun action flick - Grayson
Once Upon A Time In Mexico is a fun action movie, although it certainly requires a signifigant suspension of disbelief. If you're willing to let go of the "How could they do that??" kind of questions and enjoy it for what it is, it's a great movie.
And what is it? It's a folktale. Larger than life action, high drama, and a story that grabs you and doesn't let go.
The acting is, unsurprisingly, excellent. The action style is fantastic, and unrelenting in it's pursuit of excitement. All told, the movie excels at being what it is, and if you're wanting to enjoy that, you will certainly enjoy this movie.
