Only You
A love story written in the stars.
An irresistibly romantic comedy from the director of Moonstruck, Only You stars Marisa Tomei and Robert Downey Jr. as lovers destined to meet and fall in love. Tomei stars as Faith Corvatch, who, at age 11, asks her Ouija board the name of the man she would marry. As a teen, she asks a carnival gypsy, and receives the same answer: Damon Bradley. But when Damon Bradley never shows, the grown Faith decides to marry an earniest podiatrist. Just 10 days before the wedding, Faith's fiance receives a message from a high school alum- Damon Bradley. On a wing and a prayer, Faith flies to Italy with her best friend in search of Damon.

I had recently been to Italy and my wife kept mentioning this movie as we were visiting cities, so I decided to watch it. It is a cute romantic comedy, not much more, but the filming locations are gorgeous and really the highlight of the film. Marisa Tomei and Robert Downey Jr. easily play their roles but are not that believable together. Still, nice to revisit all those locations through the film.Neat and quirky rom-com, but... - bartonfink
.. I couldn't get behind the protagonist. Marisa Tomei is a lovely and charming actress playing a woman who is totally self-absorbed and capricious. She makes bad choices, she is indifferent to her friend's problems, and is me, me , me the whole way through. So much so that "Only Me" might have been a better title.
That being said, Robert Downey jr. and Bonnie Hunt are both excellent in this film, the Italian setting is gorgeous and most of the dialogue and situations are quite fun. But if I had been Robert Downey jr.'s character I'd have been running across Italy to get away from her.Sweet comedy. - starfire
In the genre of 'romantic comedy', this film actually deserves a four star rating. Funny, witty performances light up the screen, and Tomei and Brodrick carry off amazing on-screen chemistry in this charming film.
This is a definite must for any die hard fans of this genre. You'll laugh and maybe, shed a tear or two, and you may even be tempted to chance your darling around the globe!
