Witty and entertaining film for the whole family! - Bumblebee
What a wonderful surprise this film was when it first came out. We were astounded to see Stallone as the lead in mixed up comedy of mishaps and plays on words! He and the the entire cast are fantastic!!! Here is a film you can see with your children or grandchildren and not have to worry about foul language, violence or nudity. My teenagers had trouble, as we did, keeping up with the fast-paced plot and mistaken identities but nonetheless enjoyed it wholeheartedly.
This movie adapts the Shakespearean comedy format and the Oscar Wilde sarcasm and play on words. We wondered if it was named after Wilde himself?Surprisingly good - thenewguy
This is a surprisingly funny movie which follows a mob boss (and his house hold) through a very eventual and funny morning. Oscar is a modern film version of a classic Shakespeare comedy, with a steady stream of mix-ups, word play and mistakes.
The timing in this film is excellent and the characters are amazingly entertaining. I found both the plot and the one-liners to be a great combination that makes me want to watch this movie over and over again.A Surpisingly Funny Movie - croc
You would never think that Sylvester Stallone could be so hilarious (as he's usually spending movies beating up people), but he's really good in this movie. But it's really the supporting cast that makes this movie memorable. From the gangsters to Tim Curry to Marisa Tomei to that guy who plays the priest (sorry, I don't know his name!), this move is non-stop laughs. I watched it a very long time ago when I was a kid and I keep coming back to it time and time again. Watch it...you won't be disappointed!
