Parenthood
It could happen to you.
Director Ron Howard teams with Steve Martin and all-star cast to create a hilarious, touching and unforgettable portrait of life's most rewarding occupation: Parenthood.
The Buckmans are a modern-day family facing the age-old dilemma of trying to raise children the "right" way. At the center of the storm is Gil (Martin), who manages to keep his unique sense of humor while attempting to maintain a successful career and be a loving husband and parent, all at the same time. As Gil and the rest of the Buckmans discover, being the "perfect" parent often means just letting children be themselves.
Mary Steenburgen, Rick Moranis, Tom Hulce, Keanu Reeves, Jason Robards and Dianne Wiest add vibrant performances to this heart-warming comedy.

all about the small things in life - movie_goer
This movie is difunctional, unconventional and well what family values are in todays society.
It takes a hit at the important problems like eatting disorders, divorces, learning disabilty's,child baring, deaths, birthday partys gone wrong and yes the marriage at a young age.
Full of Hollywood's brightest and talented it give the movie plenty of storylines to follow and mixed emotions. This is the Movie that made Steve Martin the famous Family man.Great because it's funny, not because it's warm and fuzzy - The_Babe
This movie is hilarious. The sappy, warm-fuzzy parts detract from the film, but they're to be expected from Hollywood, I guess. Steve Martin is terrific, as usual. His stress face is classic. But the kids really steal the show. The kid who plays Martin's son is unbeatable. Nobody could put a bucket on his or head, run into a wall, then put a hand out in the air to quizzically investigate what caused the collision quite like this little guy.
Also, it features a young Keanu as "that Todd". I love Keanu and I'm not ashamed. I think he's great. Especially when he tells his girlfriend's mom that her young son has discovered, ummm, the pleasures of the self.
Terrific film, despite the sap.~ SIMPLY THE BEST OF ITS TYPE ~ 5 NewClassicStars ~ - SqueakyChair
SNAPSHOT: It's simply about life -- life that is funny, warm, human, sweet, conflicted and tremendously endearing. Starts well and just keeps on. The quintessential role for Steve Martin and yet he comes close to it again in "Cheaper By The Dozen" [ http://www.zip.ca/browse/title.aspx?f=titleId(114265) ].
MORE THOUGHTS: This move does what so many attempt to do, some well, others failing miserably. Natural comedy arising from everyday family life that is less dramatic and histrionic and all feel good. Enjoy.
