Pitch
"A Canadian success story!" -MacLean's
Pitch documents two childhood friends trying to do everything in their power to sell a comedy script they've written together.
Kenny Hotz and Spenny Rice born in Toronto, this dynamic duo began filmmaking almost a dozen years ago. Together they have written five scripts and produced two short films before collaborating on Pitch.
The directors expose their valiant efforts to hawk their first feature screenplay at the 1996 Toronto International Film Festival. This humorous documentary recounts their relentless attacks on celebrities, producers and anyone else who will listen. Unperturbed, the filmmakers take their script to Hollywood. Pitch reveals the anxieties, psychoses and ruthless tactics that lie beneath the surface of show business - providing great entertainment in the process.

Do not go into this movie expecting humor to rivil the likes of kenny vs spenny.
I did not find this movie funny whatsoever. People saying so in other reviews are silly.
That being said i did enjoy the movie, you get a real feel for what it is like for struggling script writers.A doc you try to like, but you'll never really get into - UrbanToronto
It's a documentary you want to like, but just never really get into. The ambush style of film making may have seen fresh and new when it was released, but now it just felt like watching someones personal home video.
If you like Kenny vs. Spenny, I don't think you'll get much out of this. And since you know what became of them, therefore this move is a bit irrelevant.
The only people who might like this are people who think they have a killer script.a double humiliaion - Iwantcolumbia
Well the competition was to sell a script. Kenny and Spenny try everything to get people to accept it, they crash the Toronto film festival and even fly down to LA to meet with big name producers to get advice. The documentary is a semi humourous but also interesting look at what it takes to get into Hollywood at the ground floor. It is NOT an easy thing to do. One person in the film gives them the best advice: you gotta do it all yourself, and eventually that's what the duo did by ditching the script and creating what we all know as "Kenny vs. Spenny", which, honestly is better than what I imagine their script would've been like on the big screen.
