Point Of No Return
The government gave her a choice. Death. Or life as an assassin. Now, there's no turning back.
She is society's worst nightmare. A scruffy, antisocial misfit, she's been convicted of murder and sentenced to die. But a covert government agency may be able to transform her into a sleek, cool-as-ice assassin. Her choice: learn to kill on command--or die as the courts have declared.
Maggie (Bridget Fonda) is dressed to kill, trained to survive and set loose in a deadly world--where unexpected romance can complicate things even more.

Far better than the original. - ikikass
I saw the original Nikita and this one back to back and for me this is WAY better. I think Luc had the right idea but lacked the right actors and crew.
The action and acting are far more believable in this version and the lead Character is far more attractive. The original bordered on plain silly in many places.
Overall, it's fun, good story and good action. I found this version a real pleasure to watch.Great movie -- great lady - Wentai
A truly well-done action piece.
Bridget Fonda is a hottie -- as she was in Single White Female -- and she heats up the screen with her personality, her body and her weapon, a high-caliber automatic pistol.
This girl goes from drug-addicted punk to well-trained commando, a government assasin sent to deal with middle east arms merchants. The dreaded remake. - cathyottawa
This movie will forever suffer from being compared to the much better French original, La Femme Nikita, which has actually become quite well known in America.
This was suppossed to be Bridget Fonda's breakout movie. It didn't quite work out that way for her, but I think she does a reasonably good job playing the junkie turned hitwoman.
I wasn't crazy about the casting of Gabriel Byrne; I didn't think he & Fonda had good chemistry.
Harvey Keitel does a creepy good job playing "the cleaner".
Yes, the French movie is much better, but this one isn't half bad.
