Nice Story; mediocre movie - mark_s
This is a compelling story - one that definitely keeps your interest right to the end. Watched it with my teenage daughter and we enjoyed it. On the other hand, the film is not very well executed and has a low-budget feel. The acting and writing are mostly not very good.Pre - eRJe
A movie about a winner. Steve Prefontaine was a winner. All he knew how to do was win. Any athlete in any sport can learn a lot from watching this movie. Jared Leto does an excellent job of showing the fragile psychy of this legendary athlete.
Steve Prefontaine ran ever race to win. He never ran for second place, and never settled for a bronze metal. I think in this day when we spend our lives making one compromise after another to get through it is inspiring to hear the story of a person that never backed down, and never gave an inch. Tragically his life ended in an alcohaul related traffic accident and Pre's true potential was never reached. But this extrordinary man left his shoe print on running society in such a way that he is still talked about in athletic circles today.
