This story starts with two priest in a church, and their relationship within their residence. One of these priests seems to be extremelly religious and wants to increase the church. Then we find out that this young priest also has a nightlife which isn't too holy. This young priest has confusions running in his heart, mind, and soul, and gets inti various trouble fo it all.Enlightening - simpleme
This movie was great. I had no idea what I was really in for, as the synopsis is very vague. I was pulled in by the storyline, and the anguish that the young priest went through within his own soul. It was very well written, well acted, and just a good movie all around.A love story with many messages - said
Priest is a wonderful love story that explores the conflict of a gay catholic priest torn between his love for vocation and his love for another man. While this movie was made in 1994 the issues brought up in its subject matter are even more current today as the current Pope has declared that homosexuals are to be barred from being Priests. In the 1.5 hours this movie runs it manages to explore an amazing number of social issues including the passion of the priestly vocation, social responsibility, poverty, incest abuse, and of course homophobia.
