Repo Man
... It's 4 A.M., Do You Know Where Your Car Is?
Emilio Estevez and Harry Dean Stanton team up to prove that anything worth having is worth stealing back in this non-stop action-comedy. After frustrated punk rocker Otto Maddox (Estevez) quits his dead-end supermarket job, he's hired by Bud (Stanton) to work as an apprentice "repo man." In no time, the rookie is caught up in a series of off-the-wall adventures involving government agents, U.F.O. cultists, hired thugs and a lobotomized nuclear scientist, culminating in the search for an incredibly valuable '64 Chevy containing a secret that can change the course of civilization overnight! An explosive action-packed cult classic that combines the seedy underworld of car repossession with the quirky realm of science fiction.

There are few movies that, when I was a teen, I thought was cool and now, as an adult, I still think still have punch. This is one of those movies.
Visually, the movie has so many sight gags that you could watch it without the sound and still be entertained (and may make the same amount of sense). However, the dialogue is great and I've often times quoted the movie to friends, only deserving a blank stare since they hadn't lived with this movie like I had as a kid.
The last few minutes of the movie, when everything "comes together", may lose a lot of the literally minded. If you have the ability to watch a movie and not understand all of it, check this film out. If you don't get a lot of it, it's not due to deffective story telling or that you're not smart- it's just part of the ride.Nostalgia Required. - cathyottawa
I don't know how I missed out on this movie. I came of age in the 80s, and hung around punks, like Emilo Estevez in the film, but somehow, this one passed me by.
Hubby couldn't believe it, and said I HAD to see this....
If you saw and loved this in the 80s, seeing it again, you'll probably still get some enjoyment out of it, but you might wonder why you thought it was so cool.
Seeing it for the first time, like myself, you might find it mildly funny and entertaining, but wonder what all the fuss is about. It definitely had it's moments, but it wasn't all that, and didn't quite live up to the hype for me.
Some movies are better remembered than rewatched, and this just might be one of those, as Mykull and Anonymous's reviews suggest. You might want to put this in the nostalgia bin with the clothes and music you listenned to in the 80s, and leave it at that.More drugs, eh? - Anonymous
I'm getting old.
Sorry to say, but it is so.
When I was young, this was THE movie to snuggle up with my baby and 10 beers.
Now I snuggle slower, and this ain't it anymore.
Where did I go wrong? It just is a little tiring and forced; and I'm not sure if I'm referring to this film or the life lived then.
So it was fun, but unless the drugs get better, I won't watch this again.
