RFK
When America was obsessed with what we were fighting against...he showed us what we were fighting for.
RFK focuses on the final five years of Robert F. Kennedy's life beginning with President John F. Kennedy's untimely death in 1963 to his own tragic death in 1968. From the transformation of the younger Kennedy as he moved out of the shadows of JFK to establish and define his own political persona.
Golden Globe nominee Linus Roache (THE GATHERING STORM, WINGS OF THE DOVE, HART'S WAR) is riveting in his portrayal of the young Kennedy. Also starring James Cromwell (LA CONFIDENTIAL, THE GREEN MILE) as Lyndon Johnson, David Paymer (STATE AND MAIN), Martin Donovan (INSOMNIA), Ving Rhames (PULP FICTION, MISSION IMPOSSIBLE).
Written by Hank Steinberg (61, WITHOUT A TRACE) and Directed by Robert Dornheim (SINS OF THE FATHER, ANNE FRANK).

This movie won't go down in history like RFK did! - Cricri7
I am a history buff and have read numerous books and seen documentaries on the Kennedys so I was psyched about seeing this movie. I love Linus Roache so I was anxious to see him portray RFK. I have nothing to hold against his performance but the movie was very dull. They put real life footage in the movie, which is interesting, but it does not save this movie. If you want to learn more about Bobby, you better zip a documentary instead.Getting Bobby - Shaft!
This movie really "gets" Robert Kennedy; his reserved nature, insecurity and, paradoxically, his ability to encapsulate hope and a better future are portrayed excellently. The accent isn't exactly right, but even as an exageration that borders on parody it is marshalled effectively as part of the character, especially in the scene where the diminutive Massachusetts liberal is dressed down by the hulking, imposing Texan, Lyndon Johnson. Robert Kennedy's struggle to live up to John Kennedy's legacy is demonstrated with a bit of a heavy hand. The film's strength, though, is its capturing of the fractures in the country and the Democratic Party and Robert Kennedy's vision for a way out that was murdered along with RFK. Viewers not familiar with the history may be left wondering who murdered Bobby Kennedy and why.
