Serial Mom
Every Mom Wants To Be Wanted, But Not For Murder One!
Beverly Sutphin seems like the perfect happy homemaker. A loving dentist husband Eugene and their two healthy kids Misty and Chip, the Sutphin family is as American as apple pie. The only problem is there seems to be a worm in this particular apple. Beverly lives her life the way she believes everyone should live theirs. It's those little rules of social etiquette and handy household cleaning tips that make all the difference! Flossing is good for strong healthy teeth. Recycling is good for the environment. Being polite to your neighbor is good for the community. Not following these rules can be bad - very bad in Beverly's book and, like anyone who's a little upset, there are times Beverly just wants to kill someone. In fact, maybe she has, which is why the police are going through her garbage and the newspapers are calling her SERIAL MOM. Beverly's arrest comes as some surprise to Eugene and the kids. But the hilarious and unpredictable comedy that follows will come as no surprise to people who love wholesome family movies-hard-boiled.

A movie of extremes - Chraspin
I liked this movie because it took its plot and characters to the extreme. While they can be described as one-note, each note is cranked up for comedic effect. While some gross scenes went on a bit longer than I would have liked, the sheer craziness of the movie was its redemption. The film is very much ahead of its time, which is why it does not seem TOO dated, despite the year in which it was made. A remake might not hurt, though...Dressed to kill! - TheGreatSwami
This is one of my all time favourite movies. A bit refined for your typical John Walters film, but I think it's his best to date. Kathlene Turner is absolutely brilliant and I think her role as Serial Mom is the best thing I have ever seen her do.
This movie is anything but serious, despite the macabre subject matter of a serial killer mommy gone off the deep end. The murders, while rightly mean spirited, carry an aire of camp and absurdity about them that makes them impossible to take seriously as you snicker up your sleeve.
One highlight of the whole movie is the obscene phone call to Mink Stole near the beginning of the movie. IMHO, this scene is the funniest two minutes ever committed to the screen! It truly must be seen to be believed, but then again, some people have an objection to strong language, and for this reason, will want to skip this part.
The plot and chuckles continue right up until the end as Serial Mom chooses to defend herself in court and wins! At which time, she swiftly executes her final lesson in etiquette to none other than earstwhile urban guerilla and newspaper heiress, Patty Hearst, on the morals of wearing white shoes after Labor Day. Will Suzanne Somers be next on the list? Only the most twisted imagination will ever know for sure!
A must see for all John Walters and Kathlene Turner fans.don't mess with the mom - movie_goer
cathlene turner is already established her talent time and time agian. this movie showed another talent i never saw coming its called 'comedy'. the movie is dark, turner plays a martha stewart like mother figure with no mercy and uses any reason she can to run over her sons teacher or people who don't wear their seat belts or chew gums like cows. the motives are lame but the movie has a sold begining and ending with the guest star of susan sommers, in case anyones a fan...
