Predictable but nice - maebers
Yes, predictable it is, but also sweet, even with an actor like Prinze. Sometimes it is funny and when you are watching a romantic comedy all you really want, I guess, is the main characters get together in a nice way. That sort of happens. A teenager will probably love it, but others will not completely waste their time.Great Teen movie - Derly1
This was a cute movie with a excellent cast of stars.
Zach Siler (Freddie Prince Jr.) is the god of his senior class everyone wants to be him and he has the girlfriend that everyone wants. So you'd think he'd have it all until he is dumped by Taylor the first day back from summer vacation. Instead of being down on himself he takes a bet from his good friend Dean (Paul Walker)that he can turn any girl into the prom queen. Dean was able to choose any girl and right at that moment Laney Boggs (Rachel Leigh Cook)one of the class's biggest geek arrived and was chosen. At first Zach resists but a bet is a bet. Laney of course is hesitant to be friends with him but later accepts. Zach's friends take her in except Taylor Zach's ex she makes it hell for her. Things get worse for Laney when she starts running for prom queen. When Zach takes too long to ask Laney to the prom she goes with Dean and the truth comes out. A upset Laney leaves the prom with Dean while Zach's left trying to figure out where they went. This is a cute romantic movie about teenagers from two different worlds falling in love with one another.Your Average High School Romantic Comedy - Garion
This movie is yet another version of 'Pygmalion' set in high school, yet I found that it occasionally rose above the clichés of the genre and had some clever moments. While the characters are all the typical stereo-types for such a film and tended to follow the well worn tracks laid by previous films, I enjoyed that the writers sometimes opted for more realistic occurrences to the standard situations. A prime example is that the Pygmalion character doesn't win the title of prom queen.
In a movie filled with clichés, I liked that it wasn't always cliché.
