Sour Grapes
They're cousins and best pals... till debt do them part!
Richie figures he owes cousin Evan 50 cents. Evan figures it's more like, oh, a little over $218,000. A $436,000 slots jackpot - and the two quarters Richie bummed from Evan to win it - set in motion a hip, funny tale of devious retaliation and outlandish consequences from film-debuting writer/director Larry David, the co-creator of "Seinfeld." Girlfriends, a smothering mom, a preening sitcom star, an upwardly homeless man- and others join the comic character parade that helps make Sour Grapes so bitterly, outrageously sweet.

I'm a *huge* fan of Curb and thought that Larry David could do no wrong. Needless to say, I had high hopes for this movie but it just didn't work out. The premise is good, but the delivery was so caricatured that you couldn't really connect to the characters. Although, when this movie was mentioned on Curb, it seems that LD was not that keen on it himself....Actually pretty good! - jennyroo
I was a little worried after reading some reviews about this movie that I would not like it. Thankfully, I was wrong!
I am a big fan of Larry David and his work, and if you are a fan of Curb Your Enthusiasm, then I think you will enjoy this movie.
This movie was made between David's Seinfeld days and before CYE, and there are elements of both in this movie - from dialogue, to scenes, and even the music.
The actors aren't the greatest, but they aren't bad...and the plot gets a little silly at times but doesn't go overboard.
It's really basically a long Curb episode with different actors, and worth a rental.
