This remake is so badly done that it isn't worth looking at even if it was free. I can't believe that the makers of this garbage couldn't tell how bad this movie is and srap it before being shown. I'm even more surprised that Glen Close would even attempt or agree to try to do this movie. As usual, a bad remake - MovieLover
I've given 2 stars simply for the divine music; possibly the best music ever written for a musical.
But this remake is startlingly bad.
Glenn Close is badly miscast. Yes, she is way way too old for the part of a young nurse who falls in love with an older man.
That's bad enough; however the simple fact is she acts badly; and in fact is so totally unconvincing, that I had to stop watching the movie.
And this miscasting is even more terrible because in the original version, Mitzi Gaynor is so delightful, both as an actess and as a singer.
This would rate MINUS stars if not for the music which is immortal.
