Tango & Cash is one of those movies where you check your brain at the door and don't question a lot of the hand waving that advances the plot. It is surprisingly well contrived, and very funny! It would be good for a bad movie night. Russell and Stallone have good chemistry together and lots of zingy one liners. Plus the movie is gleefully violent, something you don't see a lot of outside of 80s movies.Talk about plot! - imagination201
When I first rented that movie, back in the 90's, it was a minor movie that hadn't been talked about much. However, after watching it, it always stuck in my mind as one of the best cop buddy movies I had seen so far. So, when I watched it again years later, I simply enjoyed watching all the gags, the action and the intrigue once again. Granted, it is violent, but except for the torture through electricity at the prison, there is worse in today's crime movies.

Tango & Cash is a typical movie from the late 80's early 90's era, filled with mindless action and ridiculous quips.
If you are a big fan of Lethal Weapon, Die Hard, Demolition Man, or Bird on a Wire, then this is the one to consider viewing.
Don't expect any heavy duty sleuthing or intense moments.
It's a perfect pick me up for a slow rainy day.
