Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom
The second film in George Lucas and Steven Spielberg's Indiana Jones trilogy takes Indy (Harrison Ford), his young sidekick Short Round (Jonathan Ke Quan) and spoiled songbird Willie Scott (Kate Capshaw) to a mysterious fortress in India. The trio risks everything to find a village's missing magic stone -- and in the process stumbles upon the rituals of a demonic cult. It's a jam only the whip-toting adventurer could get out of alive!

Good, But a Slight Letdown - MovieProf
“Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom” is a great film but when compared to its predecessor, “Raiders of the Lost Ark,” it is a bit of a letdown. Even director Steven Spielberg has admitted that he now feels guilty about the excessive violence in the film, particularly the ripping of a man’s heart from his body.
This time, Indiana isn’t in America at all; he starts off in China, then moves on to India. He is joined by "Willie" Scott (Kate Capshaw) and Short Round (Jonathan Ke Quan). Indy battles an ancient Indian cult known as the Thuggee, and their evil leader, Mola Ram.
This is a great, action-packed film, and even though it isn’t as strong as the original, it’s still great fun. It is also notable for the meeting and eventual marriage that sprung up between director Spielberg and actress Capshaw.Good action flick - Hawk639
So I rented this because although I know I have seen it, I did not remember it. Turns out that there is a reason for that. Of all the Indiana Jones films this is probably the least memorable (excluding the crystal skull).
There were however a few high points. Short Rounds, a young asian side kick was both humorous and endearing. It was a little unbelievable though when he was fighting grown men.
Lots of action in the film, little plot however, so it is fun for a day at home, but not one of the best. Not as good as the first - jungforu
As I slowly make my way through the Indiana Jones series, I have had the pleasure to watch The Temple of Doom. To be honest, I prefered the first movie (Raiders of the Lost Ark) to this one. The plot was more evolved, I was able to see Indiana Jones in a variety of roles (professor, archelogist, romantic lead), and I honestly prefered Marian to Willie, who tended to lean towards the whinny, annoying side of things. In general, it was a fun escape, but was not on the same level as Raiders of the Lost Ark.
