This has been forgotten among the multitude of Disney animated features, but is a solid film for all ages. E.Gabor is purrfect as the classy mother to 3 young kittens and you can’t help but love the feline father figure, O’Malley, and his cool cat cronies. As with most Disney full-length animated features, you’ll find yourself humming the jazzy “Everybody Wants To Be A Cat” for days after. I also got a kick from the banter between the farm dogs (Lafayette and his self-proclaimed leader Napoleon), although their absurd chase scenes with Edgar were too Bugs Bunny for a Disney flick. The quality of the animation is only average as the film was still using decades-old techniques. Parents may find the poisoning and violence towards animals too inappropriate for younger audiences that might not understand it’s only a movie. The Aristocats - anonymos
This was the first Disney animated feature that wan't directed by Walt Disney, since he had died during the previously released film, The Jungle Book. The Aristocats tells the story of Dutchess and her three little kittens in a quest to return to their beloved mansion with their dear Madame Bonfamille. The trouble is that Edgar, the mansion's butler has heard Madame mention his name in her will, but the kittens have been placed before him and he won't stop until he gets rid of the cats and run off with Madame Bonfamille's fortune after her death.
The DVD features very little bonus features, just a little trailer and some kid games, nothing much that can teach you inside and behind the scenes of the film. Let's hope this timeless classic gets re-released in a better edition.A Family Classic - sherrybaby213
Disney does it again, working their animation magic and bring these kitty cat characters to life. Thomas O'Mally is a lovable large alley cat, whose street sense helps a mother and her three kittens to get home safely. My kids absolutly loved this Disney classic.
The soundtrack included Disney hits such as "Everybody Wants To Be A Cat", and "O'Mally The Alley Cat". Sure to please the whole family!
