The Bible ...In the Beginning
The greatest stories of the Old Testament are brought to the screen with astounding scope and power in this international film which depicts the first 22 chapters of Genesis. This is the spectacular story of man's creation, his fall, his survival and his indomitable faith in the future. Matching the epic scale of the production are performances by George C. Scott as Abraham, Ava Gardner as Sarah, and Peter O'Toole as the haunting presence of the Angel of God. The legendary John Huston directs and delivers a commanding performance as Noah. From the film's opening amidst cosmic chaos, to its lingering message of hope and salvation, The Bible stands as a monumental motion picture achievement.

The Bible ...In the Beginning - TheWiz
Believer, athiest, agnostic or whatever your position in today's fast paced go, go, go world, this movie dedicated to the reproduction of the Bible as it was viewed years back, is true to it's era of hard working post war America with it's Sunday going community. There is and will always be value in books, regardless of how you view them, that promote Love, vales and life's important lessons. So, like the Christmas Song, from 2 to a 102, watch and enjoy. Something for everyone. The Book Was Better - MovieFiend
What I said in "Review Title" pretty much sums it up. John Huston basically turkeyed it up with this one. Dude thinks he's Noah. What more do you need to know?
But this has to be at least 50 words. How about this---I'll plug Steve Carell's own Noah-ish performance in Evan Almighty. That looks pretty funny. Maybe that's what Huston should have done with The Bible...made it funny.Excellent overview of the beginning of the Bible! - Ginger8
For time line studies or just for general interest this movie is an excellent example of bringing the scriptures to life. It is a bit long and there is an intermission so be prepared to take a break through this one, you'll need it. There is so much information in this film that one can really experience the full bounty of Genisis and understand more than the naration gives. My family and I loved it and would highly recomend it.
