The Birds
Nothing equals The Birds for sheer terror when Alfred Hitchcock unleashes his foul friends in one of his most shocking and memorable masterpieces. As beautiful blond Melanie Daniels ('Tippi' Hedren) rolls into Bodega Bay in pursuit of eligible bachelor Mitch Brenner (Rod Taylor), she is inexplicably attacked by a seagull. Suddenly thousands of birds are flocking into town, preying on school children and residents in a terrifying series of attacks. Soon Mitch and Melanie are fighting for their lives against a deadly force that can't be explained and can't be stopped in one of Hollywood's most horrific films of nature gone berserk.

Frightening and enjoyable at the same time. - moviegenius
I first heard about this movie when my brother said that he watched part of it in class and said that it was ridiculous and funny. I thought that it sounded funny. So, I rented it and gosh, it was great! I was a little freaked out when this old lady went to check on her husband and the husband's eyes had been pecked out by the evil birds. It was a disturbing scene. Anyways, this is a great movie and I think that it's one of Hitchcock's best films. See it.Effects Old, but it Holds Up - ShawnConnery
I believe that this movie was well done. It was made over 45 years ago and it still manages to create a ton of supense. Sure, some of the effects were cheesy, such as the birds noises and some of the attack scenes, but there were many that were actually intense. A few classic scenes also confirms to me that they don't make them like they used to; today, all thrillers are full of graphic scenes, but Hitchcock made things scary without having to resort to that, which takes real genius. It Could Totally Happen! - FilmJunkie
I am forever afraid of birds because of this movie. Hitchcock plays with the idea that birds could actually overtake humans (think about it! they totally could!) and kill us all. This film is terrifying when it could have been silly, because Tippi Hedren is so believable and because of the sound effects and editing which render the birds scary as hell instead of funny.
That scene in the house, when they hear the birds breaking through, oh and the scene in the phone booth, ooooh and the one in the upstairs room!
This movie is a pulse-pounder that must be experienced.
