The Cat O' Nine Tails
When a simple robbery at a research institute leads to a series of brutal murders, a blind puzzle maker (Karl Malden) and a tenacious reporter (James Franciscus) begin their own investigation of the crimes. With nine different clues to follow, they uncover a shocking web of twisted genetics and dark sexual secrets that will finally lead them to a shattering climax of violence and suspense.
Originally released in 1971, The Cat O' Nine Tails secured the international reputation of director Dario Argento as 'The Italian Hitchcock.' This is the definitive version of Argento's masterful second film, now fully remastered from its original camera negative and presented completely uncut and uncensored in widescreen for the first time ever in America.

Great film if you ignore Dario's pervious/first film - DeaditeSlayer
The Cat O Nine Tails is an interesting story and fun watch. Despite all this, I had decided to watch this after I had watched Dario's first movie, The Bird with the Crystal Plumage. Cat O Nine Tails is Dario Argento's second film. Both movies are giallo and both movies follow the formula to a tee. For this reason, The Cat O Nine Tails almost feels like a re-hashed version of Bird with the Crystal Plumage with different characters and a different scenario. If you can look past this though, all actors give good performances, it is scored by Ennio Morricone, and the film overall is definitely a good watch. Of course Dario would only perfect giallo later on with movies like Tenebrae and Deep Red. I recommend this for giallo/Dario Argento fans.Good but not extraodinary - Coconut_Willy
At first glance, one might think that this has to be a sure winner; Argento's follow-up to the great 'Bird With The Crystal Plumage', an Ennio Morricone score, known actors... Well, although all this might be OK, this movie is a bit too formulaic for me. The storyline is clever, the acting is good with interesting dialogue and interesting characters but I always expect some new twist in an Argento movie and I did not see it here. It is certainly pleasant viewing and fans of the maestro and of giallo in general will surely want to see this film but, hopefully with not too much expectations. Recommended but mostly for completists.
The transfer to DVD is good enough with a bit of interesting extras featuring Dario Argento and Ennio Morricone.
