The Family Man is an excellent christmas film for the whole family or for a date. - moviemonger
Which would you choose? Money, fame, power, and success or poverty, love, and screaming kids? This is the choice Nic Cage faces in his new film, “The Family Man”. The feel good movie of the holidays? You bet! This flick is sure to be a crowd pleaser. This is exactly the kind of adult fantasy you want to see at Christmas and, as such, it's highly enjoyable entertainment. But there's just something lacking that makes it less satisfying than it could be: too many plot question marks, and a conclusion that, while hopeful, is hardly the uplifting emotional finish the film so badly needs. The ending is little weakA favorite - Pass_the_popcorn
This is one of our favorite family movies. Wouldn’t it be great to have a glimpse of where we would be if we had made different choices? As Jack's glimpse becomes more real to him than his actual life, the viewers get a chance to appreciate that love and people are more real than money and business success. I agree completely with Garion’s review comments regarding the acting by Nicolas Cage and especially Tea Leoni. However, I disagree with the criticism that the daughter picks up on Cage’s identity, but the wife doesn’t. They both know the man has changed, the daughter with true childlike wonder and simplicity assumes he’s an alien, while the wife assumes the more grown-up explanation that he’s having a midlife crisis. My only complaint is this is yet another movie with the lead character named Jack!Good clean entertainment - Six_in_the_Field
I can't really put my finger on it, but there's just something very enjoyable about this movie. It's very well acted, well written, and all around a very good movie.
It's nice to see Nic Cage in a role that's a drastic departure to the action flicks we normally see him in.
It's one of my favourites.
