I was actually born in 1985 when this movie came out but I still remember watching it as a child and I loved it, I then bought a copy when I was an adult and I still love it! It is a movie that you would be able to watch over and over again! It just has an awesome story and it had me wishing that I could find an adventure like that!goonies - sheedevill99
This is one of my families all time favourite movies. My children are now in the twenties and if it happens to come on tv they will stop and watch it again. Every child dreams of going on a treasure hunt. There possibly was never a movie like this providing tons of fun and laughter during the time. The characters and their personalities were most original, including "Data" and his supply of gadgets, and "Chunk" with his obese but likeable image (love that "Truffle Shuffle"!). But "Sloth" easily stole the show with his own likeable personality, a goon with the weirdest face I've ever seen in my life! Just think of how fun it is to discover lost treasure, when you know it's only fantasy. Four key things come to mind with THE GOONIES: pirate ships, teenagers, the Frattellis, and Cyndi Lauper.A lot of fun - eli_quincy
The Goonies is one of those films that will appeal immensely to you if you grew up on it, and maybe hold slightly less appeal if you're sitting down to watch it for the first time as an adult. But perhaps that's simply because it taps into a sense of imagination that simply doesn't exist in many adults -- unless they're reliving a childhood favourite, that is. That it bears Steven Spielberg's inimitable touch only adds to its charm.
