I loved the book and I loved this movie. - moviegenius
This movie was actually a book. It was a different title, though. It was called Freak the Mighty and it was by Rodman Philbrick. 5 years after the book was written, a movie of it came out. It was a great book that was made into a great movie. It was sad, funny and heartwarming. This is definitely worth seeing. All Right, but lifeless - nxnw
A good, succinct, story that could have been a much better movie. Unfortunately, the life is sucked out of it by the star turns, the very annoying Kieran Culkin, and the heavy handed direction.
James Gandolfini plays a bad guy and Gena Rowlands is always good.A Sweet, absurd fantasy, a bit shlocky - eyeland
This is actually quite a sweet and orginal film about claiming your power and about friendship. It almost makes it as a "family" film that adults can equally enjoy, but there are a few violent moments that didn't need to be included. There are some beautiful and subtle mergings of real life and fantasy.
