The Mod Squad
First They Broke The Law And Now They Are The Law.
Three problem teens are headed for jail: Julie, Pete, and Linc. They're set to do time until Captain Greer offers them a deal to work for him - undercover. Slick with a late 90's look and feel, this "stylish thriller" dazzles the senses with awesome visuals and sensational music!
In a hip L.A. scene, where club kids groove 'til dawn, something is going down - but the cops aren't sure what. Captain Greer sends in his special undercover task force - The Mod Squad - to find out. Beyond the dance floor fog of strobe lights, glitter and tribal music, they uncover an intricate crime ring involving drugs, prostitution and dirty cops. But before they can blow the whistle, the tables are turned and they're caught in a deadly set-up. Now, with the cops hot on their trail, they have little time to solve the puzzle, clear their names and avoid going to the slammer - for good!!

All in all I believe this movie turned out well. It had a little bit of everything, action, comedy, sex appeal. It's your basic crooked cop story. I do agree with a previous users review about it having a charlies angels feel, but I don't believe that to be a bad thing. I've seen this movie twice now, and I'll probably watch it again in a years time.slow but good somehow ;P - imagination201
While I expected a fast action movie, I still enjoyed the slow amateur investigation and how the kids manage to make their place into the world without reverting to their bad habits.
That said, though, there are lengths, but at the same time, they kind of make sense as the youths are not professional and make it up as they go. The movie, though, is not improvised and ends up with a good flourish :)A real mess. - cathyottawa
The original show was before my time, so I can't tell you how true this was to the series.
I can tell you it felt very much like Charlie's Angels. We have three sort-of cops: The tough one, the dumb one, and the cool one. We have our "Charlie" in Dennis Farina, and we have an undercover mission to bring down the bad guys.
This also felt very much like an 80s cop movie - a bad 80s cop movie. All the characters are one dimensional. The dialogue is bad. The plot is about as complex as a Charlie's Angels episode.
This used a 70s style musical score that seemed out of place, and stuck in strictly as a tip of the hat to the original show. Not very subtle.
Maybe if this had gone the Charlie's Angels movie route, and poked fun at the series in more of a comedy, it might have been okay. But this actually tried to be a serious movie, and it's seriously bad.
