The New Guy
A Zero Will Rise
The New Guy is a fresh and wildly hilarious comedy starring DJ Qualls (Road Trip), Eliza Dushku (Bring It On), Zooey Deschannel (Almost Famous), Lyle Lovett (The Opposite of Sex) and Eddie Griffin (Undercover Brother). Ed Decter, co-writer of the comedy hit There's Something About Mary, makes his directorial debut in the laugh out loud funniest comedy of the year!
Terminally nerdy Dizzy Harrison (Quall) is routinely laughed at, ridiculed and picked on. His senior year is nothing but an exercise in pain and torture. So Dizzy decides to change his luck. After purposely getting expelled from school, he enrolls in a rival high school with a new look, a new story and a completely new attitude. Now, the former dud becomes a major stud and finds himself the big man on campus - complete with girls, popularity and more girls! But when his past resurfaces and threatens to expose the real Dizzy, he must rise to the occasion to show the world exactly what he's all about!

This comedy is well done and generates a number of classic scenes.
When a young teen gets a chance to start over and reinvent himself, and he does just that at a new high school.
The events that transpire as a result of this change are both entertaining and hilarious. The transformation from geek to chic is entertaining to say the least.
The New Guy is a little known diamond in the ruff. It is well worth watching and will not leave you feeling that time was wasted.A Bit of Fun - c4th
Endure the first half hour and what lies ahead is descent movie well short of great but a bit of fun.
Napolean Dynamite, which followed the same basic premise of social misfit reinventing himself to become popular, should have taken a lesson. The New Guy was much more entertaining. The characters were more diverse and far more interesting.
But then there's that first half hour which is really horrible. What to do? Oh yes. Modern technology provides the solution - "Jump to Next Scene".the new guy - beeve99
i thought that this movie was a very good adaptation of how you can completely re invent yourself in a new school but as well as there is a morle to the story and that is to be yourself DJ qualls is very funny. i also like eddie griffin and the whole suport cast was great. worth the rent guys
