The Order
There Is a Fate Worse Than Death
For centuries, a secret Order of priests has existed within the Church. A renegade priest, Father Alex Bernier (Heath Ledger), is sent to Rome to investigate the mysterious death of one of the Order's most revered members. Following a series of strangely similar killings, Bernier launches an investigation that forces him to confront unimaginable evil and the terrifying knowledge that there is a fate worse than death.

I am a very fan of Heath Ledger, and this was the main reason why I got this movie. It was nice to see him again as a very good actor, and yes I still think he was the best actor in this movie.
I was a bit confused with the story, as I never knew there was this other order called Carolingian priest out of the Roman Catholic Church, so it was hard to try and understand everything that was happening in this movie, and especially when it started to be very dark with the evil stories, and all the Sin Eater situations. But then again it was just nice to see Heath Ledger as his best as usual. Peace Heath Ledger. The Order - SuzyQ
Seen the movie before and enjoyed it, if you are not into theological theories or strong in your beliefs, this movie can be difficult to watch as it sheds a negative light on the Church. For someone who believes in the supernatural, it's something else that could very well be possible. I enjoyed the movie, it's not action packed, but it leads to questions.Double Order of Cheese - Sandman2
I had low expectations for this movie, but I'm not sure that it lived up even to them. I like a good spooky thriller, but this thing has plot holes wider than the arches of St. Peter's Basilica. Heath Ledger, pre-Oscar nomination, does what he can, and there's a fair attempt in the first third of the movie at building up an atmosphere of mystery, if not outright terror, but the story ultimately makes no sense. Shannyn Sossamon's as weak a performer as ever, and Peter Weller eats enough scenery to feed an entire Cistercian monastery. Helgeland may be a competent director, but as a writer he leaves much to be desired. The real higher power that Helgeland ought to consider surrendering to? The power of the Story Editor.
