The Prince and The Pauper
Errol Flynn duels into action in Warner Bros.' spectacular, spirited film of Mark Twain's classic novel. Amid 16th century England's pomp and poverty, two lookalike lads, one a beggar and one young Edward VI, exchange identities for a lark. But their switch backfires and it's up to soldier-of-fortune Miles Hendon (Flynn) to turn th etables on a conspirator (Claude Rains) and return the correct lad to assume the throne.
Flynn's rakish persona, William Keighley's brisk direction, Erich Wolfgang Korngold's score and the spry performances of twins Billy and Bobby Mauch helped many a film fan form an enchanted view of Olde England. That view is just as rousing today. The Prince and the Pauper wears the crown as regal all-family entertainment.

The Prince and The Pauper - TheWiz
I remember this one from my youth! Even today, my Wife and I agree that 'good family swashbuckling movies' are hard to come by. This movie is about simplicity and my two young daughters (11 & 14), laughed heartidly out loud at all of the simple charm and good clean enjoyment. No drunken Johnny Depp with over-stuffed CGI; a real story with real actors as you would imagine the story to unroll on a live theatre stage. Montagu Love is outstanding as Henry VIII. Enjoy!Exciting family fare - MusicMom
We rented this film to see Errol Flynn, but were delighted by the performances of Billy and Bobby Mauch, the twins playing the title roles. They carried the film with their charming innocence, good looks and infectious playfulness. Errol Flynn was as charismatic as usual, and the playing Henry VIII was great fun to watch. There was plenty of humour and action to keep our seven and nine year old boys interested throughout. Highly recommended!
