Leary plays an unfortunate cat burglar who becomes trapped in a fate worse than jail when he takes a bickering couple (Kevin Spacey - American Beauty and Judy Davis- Judy Garland) and their annoying relatives hostage. His only hope for survival is to act as their referee and resolve their differences- or it's going to mean instant insanity for everyone! Great comedy - cloicker
This is a very funny comedy that I missed so many years ago. Dennis Leary plays a great burgler who gets in trouble when taking the wrong couple hostage. The bickering couple is so real it's just too funny. A must see if you missed it as well. Not as much swearing as some of the reviews say.A hilarious movie. - moviegenius
This was such a funny movie. Denis Leary was great as the angry, foul-mouthed burglar who takes a bickering married couple hostage. There is a lot of swearing in this movie, so if you hate swearing, this is a movie you might want to skip. There is also a couple of scenes with a drunk Santa that aren't very funny. The bickering couple were pretty funny, too. Also, the scenes where the couple has dinner with their family and pretend that Denis Leary is their marriage counselor is very funny. If you like the sound of this movie, go out and rent this movie as soon as possible.The Ref - scruff
Can't imagine anyone not rating this a 5. Dennis Leary is his funniest in this "what else can go wrong" burglary. Davis and Spacey give you a belly ache laugh as they go through marital and family issues. My best line, thanks to Dennis, "your husbands not dead lady, he's just hiding". I loved this movie sooo much I bought a copy for every couple I knew and of course I watch it all the time. You'll want a copy for your collection!
