Not bad, not great - Calzephyr
I'll try not to be too harsh on this movie, but I felt there were some wasted opportunities despite nice visuals and attention to detail in the sets. My main peeve with this movie was that so much of it was superficial compared to the richness of the radio plays - it seemed like pale imitation. The villain was not very villainous and some of the special effects are quite apparent, especially the matte paintings. This would be a much better movie if they waited 10 years for the superhero renaissance. Still, it is enjoyable - I have seen many worse superhero movies.Artistic Treat - Big_Max
This movie is very well made, the artwork is excellent and the music and sound effects really match the film well. You really believe it is 1930's New York. The 2 main characters are great and the story is an adventure both visually and intellectually.THE SHADOW ENTERTAINS - NF--
Color, action, adventure and romance within a sci-fi framework. Some violence, but just enough to keep sleepyheads awake. Alec Baldwin breathes passionate intensity into the title role of The Shadow, a character that could've easily played cartoonish in the hands of a lesser actor. Nicely directed and casted, a pleasant evening's entertainment.
