Malcom Crowe is a child psychologist who receives an award on the same night that he is visited by a very unhappy ex-patient. After this encounter, Crowe takes on the task of curing a young boy with the same ills as the ex-patient. This boy "sees dead people". Crowe spends a lot of time with the boy (Cole) much to the dismay of his wife. Cole's mom is at her wit's end with what to do about her son's increasing problems. Crowe is the boy's only hope.It holds up - Alribo
I saw this movie when it first came out, but only now have gotten around to watching it for the second time. So, this is my first viewing while "knowing the secret".
I found I liked it better the second time. Some scenes that seemed slow and irrelevant the first time around make more sense now.
It is creepy as well, left me feeling slightly disturbed for a few days afterward.
My kids liked it, made a good "starter horror" for them. Just enough thrills without being a gross out movie and without much swearing, etc.
Well, its a classic for a reason - if you haven't seen it yet why the heck not?? You won't regret it!I see dead people - hilkayaker
This movie is amazing! Not for the faint of heart, kind of scary. Lots of jumpy parts and the parts with Mischa Barton are so creepy. She does an amazing job for such a young actress. Of course, no one can compare with Halley Joel Osmand, he is amazing for such a young kid. He is so good at conveying how scared and creepy his poor situation is.
