The War
What's worth fighting for?
It was a different time...and a different pace. This heartwarming film tells the tale of a close-knit family and their remarkable Mississippi summer of 1970.
With the help of their friends, Stu and Lidia Simmons are determined to build the ultimate treehouse, a place of wonder and magic. The father Stephen, a newly returned Vietnam vet, has equally high hopes to rebuild his life and fulfill his family's dreams.

I think this movie is really good. I really liked how it's placed in the older times in mississippi which i love. It's a pretty simple story about a small family trying to pull through some hard times in the south. The children are at "war" with another gang and get in trouble many times in the film. Their adventures, bumps, bruises and all are entertaining. I saw this movie about 10 years ago and thought it was great and it still is!D - RPM-
This movie just never gets off the ground for my tastes. It is a pretty boring film about some ex-vietnam vet trying to deal with his internal strife while his children are at odds with their neighbours kids.
Costner really is a huge hit or bomb with his films, this one is a bomb for sure. Just a depressing go nowhere film that is best left on the shelf of your video store.
