Way of the Gun
From the Oscar-winning screenwriter of The Usual Suspects, this wickedly off-beat mix of crime, comedy and gunplay stars Ryan Phillippe and Benicio Del Toro.
Convinced they'll score big money fast by kidnapping a young surrogate mother (Juliette Lewis) carrying the child of a wealthy Southwestern couple, the two small-caliber crooks soon run into major problems. Realizing too late that they're in over their heads, the kidnappers fight to keep their plan from unraveling amid a rising tide of bloodshed, mind games and greed.

As previously stated the opening scene is too funny. It sets up for one crazy movie. This flick is violent, funny, and dark. I'm not a fan of Juillet Lewis but she plays a believable role here. Del Toro is great he plays his usual dark character also seen in Sin City which I also recommend. Other movies along this line that I liked are Things to do in Denver when your Dead, Snatch, Lock Stock and 2 Smoking BarrelsAs generally noted by reviewers it does bring a Tarentino feel to the whole thing. During a few parts here it really did feel like an extension of Reservoir Dogs. The action scenes are as intense (I would have certainly liked more). Rooting for the bad guys has never felt so greatWatched it, loved it, bought it. - PowerPipes
This should be considered a staple for a good action collector.

This border’s between 4 and 5 Star. To give it the kudos and recognition it deserves within the Zip community I’ve elected to bump it to a 5. This is a must see that shouldn’t let anyone down. This one is in my DVD collection!! - toad
The opening alone is worth the price of the rental. It's hilarious and disturbing but most importantly it tells us everything we need to know about the characters in the first 3 minutes.
How refreshing.
It is ultra violent so be forewarned. If you like Sam Peckinpah or Quentin Tarantino then it's a must see. A modern film noir classic that takes you into the underbelly world of petty criminals and "bag men".
It's gets a bit gory toward the end but I found certain moments (like the opening) to be so clever that it makes up for any shortcomings. Once scene in particular involves a slow speed chase with cars in neutral that is just so (did I use the word "clever"?)... ok then.. uh... cool?
A really intelligent violent film. Sounds odd I know, but I really enjoyed it.
