The Whole Nine Yards
In the heart of suburbia, a hit man with heart has just moved in.
There goes the neighborhood -- in a pine box. When hit man Jimmy "The Tulip" Tudeski moves into a comfy suburb, everyone's suddenly in danger of pushing up daisies. And it's not all Jimmy's doing, either.
Jonathan Lynn (My Cousin Vinny) directs and a top cast packs heat in this manic comedy about life, love and plenty of ammo. Bruce Willis is Jimmy, whose arrival sparks a chain reaction in which just about everybody wants to clip somebody else. Matthew Perry plays a hapless dentist who finds a way to get on the Tulip's good and bad sides. And Rosanna Arquette, Michael Clarke Duncan, Natasha Henstridge, Amanda Peet and Kevin Pollak add to the wacky and whacked fun of "a laugh riot" (Larry King, USA Today).

The Whole Nine Yards is an excellent comedy about a man, Az, who learns his new neighbour is a contract killer named Jimmy "The Tulip". In an effort to pay off their debt, Az's wife talks him into selling Jimmy out to the mob. Az goes to the mob, but then decides he doesn't really want his neighbour to be killed. Then he falls in love with Jimmy's wife. The result is a great series of mixed-up characters, motives and conflicting plans when Az needs to constantly juggle new threats in order to stay alive.
The cast is excellent and Willis' quiet calm is great next to Perry's high energy and nerves. This movie combines physical comedy with witty dialogue and it makes for a quick-paced, interesting comedy.
The detail in this film is great, the little twists add to the drama without confusing the audience and the acting is top-notch. It's a terrific movie.good - seb1
Not much to say about this one. It glistens with well developed characters and painfully funny comedy. It's simply MARVELOUS in it's writing and never looses a laugh. Well executed, well filmed (for a comedy I guess) it's one of those rare comedies that makes itself worthy of the money you pay to see it in the theaters. I'm already waiting for it to come out on VHS... it was THAT good!!Again, an underrated gem - Radio_Jane
The critics sure get a kick out of picking on Matthew Perry. he may be one of the funnist men of the last decade, and he isnt bad to look at. Yet any picture he is associated with seems to take a real beating from the critics. This film deserved so much more. It was hilarious. The story line is totally engaging and the principals turn in perfect performances. Bottom Line: ignore the bad press. This movie is too good to pass up
