Tremors 2: Aftershocks
The Worms have turned.
They're back! The giant underground creatures that terrorized a desert town in TREMORS are now plowing their way through Mexican oil fields, gobbling up everything and everyone around-and only one man can stop them! In the style of its predecessor, this comedy sci-fi creature feature reunites Fred Ward as down-on-his-luck Earl Basset and Michael Gross as gung-ho survivalist Burt Gummer, two desert desperados who take on the task of destroying the monsters. Partnered with them is Christopher Gartin, a young guy in need of kicks, cash, and a career change, and Helen Shaver, a sexy and intrepid scientist who's seen it all...until now. Together they devise an ingenious plan for tracking and killing the creatures.

great for a sequel - payrosren
It doesn't surpass the original but it may be in a dead heat. The evolution of the grabboids is interesting and great plot device to allow for two more movies and the tv series to be created. Lots of explosions, and a stellar performance by Micheal Gross. This was the movie that allowed Gross to become the central character for the series.Doesn't Disappoint - Jirataur
The first TREMORS was a hard movie to top; a lot of people think of it as the perfect monster movie, and while I wouldn't go that far I do consider it one of my all-time favorites. While this sequel doesn't quite live up to its predecessor's high standards, it's still a highly entertaining and surprisingly inventive monster flick.
Easily the two highlights of the film are Michael Gross as paranoid survivalist Burt Gummer, a character who is immensely fun to watch when played by this actor, and the new creatures that evolve from the monsters in the first film. There is a lot of thought and creativity put into their design and abilities, and the practical effects representing them and their larger hosts are top-notch as well- although they look a fair bit less impressive when the shot requires them to be brought to life with computer effects.
Another thing I love about the TREMORS movies is the plans the human characters come up with to get out of the situations the monsters trap them in. Sure, the humans will bring plenty of firepower to combat the menace with at first, but somewhere along the line someone will slip up or the monsters will do something no one predicted and things quickly go south. It's fun and interesting to see how the characters get themselves out of these jams using means and ideas every bit outlandish as the enemy they face.
While it isn't quite as good as the first, TREMORS 2 is still a pretty good monster movie, and it's at least better than the two more less noteworthy sequels that followed.tremors 2 is the best - hoboinatree
