Cooking up diversity - Zapho
Not a boring moment in this light-hearted look at some serious issues lived by a diverse group of people. From sexual minority to ethnic minority, the menu serves up all their hopes and despairs. The cooks are fabulous in their attempts to perfection and human failures. Would recommend this movie to anyone!Thumbs way up for Gurinder Chadha! - movie_goer
What's cooking is Pure Genius, an outstanding achievement for both Director and actors.
People don't refer to food as Soulful for nothing, Chadha created a masterful film of diversity and realism about what Family really means.
I was blown away by it's raw edges and Noir humor. Most times when people direct films that inter-twine it usually fails to keep consistancy and the audience focused. I was gripped to my seat and completly intuned with each and every story.A Taste of Diversity - Shufflesister
Gurinda Chadha's delightful look at four hyphenated-American threads pulled from the multi-cultural fabric of American society celebrating the sameness and difference of Thanksgiving raises many issues from stereotyping to gun violence with humour and perseptive insight. Make sure you have lots of snacks to munch along with the action.
