The definitive Wonka - colinbrain
It's been many years since watching this film, but it was fantastic to go back on it. It is highly dated, but that's the way I like it. There's such a strange element to this film that makes it stick out and force me to remember it. Perhaps it is that Charlie, his family, and Willy Wonka (and the News station they watch on TV) are the only american-sounding voices in the city they live in, while everyone else is British-sounding, and the city resembles neither the UK or the States, but rather some sort of Eastern European city. Weirdness aside, there are many elements that make this film fantastic. From the story, to the music, to the sets, to the acting, it is all really perfect. Don't bother with Tim Burton's vision of Willy Wonka and stick to this classic. The introduction credit sequence alone is enough to hook me in.My all time favorite movie!! - beamersluggy
This was my absolute favorite movie when I was young. The boat scene scared me to death and I can still remember hiding under the blankets every time I watched it. Even now watching it with my children they love it just like I do. From beginning to end it keeps you entertained with its quirkiness and humor. Great movie for the whole family!Timeless Classic - Superstar
I loved this movie when I was younger and I still enjoy watching it today. It is a very clever movie with deep moral lessons. I love the Oompa Loompas and Gene Wilder's manic performance as Willy Wonka. The music, characters and scenery are not easily forgotten!
