Cheesy, but misses good - jenc
I wasn't expecting much from this movie and it almost delivered. There were so many cheesy moments and sheer ridiculousness. But it lacked something that would actually take it to the next level. A little too many "I'M BAAAaaaD BUT I'VE GOT HEART!" moments kind of killed the ongoing action.XXX - Lori
Ooooo, big explosions. Three x's three stars, it could have earned more, it had cool gadgets, big bangs, even a good solid eastern european bad guy story. However, Vin Diesel is pretty bad in this movie. I like the guy, he IS getting better as an actor, but it was like he was reading the lines off a cue card. SNAPSHOT: Action. Explosives. Cars, motorcycles, skidoos, parachutes, snowboards, stunts galore. Some awesome motorcycle special effects. Master plots [nothing stupendous], and government agents. Great fun with no brains required. Decent ride action yarn. As well worth watching as any JamesBond movie ever was.
MORE THOUGHTS: I wasn't quite sure if i was watching James Bond or Rambo. But they did give him an "Arnold" type line "I told him that smoking would kill him one day." Vin Diesel is credible... well, he won't win any awards for his acting but he does make a decent muscle-bound secret agent /slash/ extreme sport thug. Heavy metal music accompaniment will grow tiresome after awhile for the over 39 crowd.
