Spirited Away
"Spectacularly inventive." -Jane Horwitz, Washington Post
From one of the most celebrated filmmakers in the history of animated cinema comes the most acclaimed film of 2002. Hayao Miyazaki's latest triumph, filled with astonishing animation and epic adventure, is a dazzling masterpiece for all ages. It's a "wonderfully welcoming work of art that's funny and entertaining as it is brilliant, beautiful and deep." (Joe Morgenstern, Wall Street Journal).
Spirited Away is a wondrous fantasy about a young girl, Chihiro, trapped in a strange new world of spirits. When her parents undergo a mysterious transformation, she must call upon the courage she never knew she had to free herself and return her family to the outside world.

I always like "Hayao Miyazaki" animation movie and this is one of my favorite movie of his. This gives you children point of view how they see their world and very interesting. There is little sweetness of kid's mind that shows really well. All the creatures in the movies are unique to watch and has their individual charactors that fits really well to their appearance. Must watch movie!Maybe to high of expectation? - movie_goer
When Spirited Away was released i remember a tidel wave of praise. The over whelming positive feedback intrigued a curiousity through me.
Years later i finally got the chance to view the well talked about Anime film. To be honest it wasn't at all what i expected. (storyline wise). World Reknown Director Hayao Miryazaki was just establishing his work internationally during the early millineum. But what most are unaware of he's been drawing and directing since the mid 80's. Spirited Away may be his most reconised and popular film, but in my opinion i perfer Kiki's delivery and Nausica for there storyline instead of the visual effects. An Oscar-winning Masterpiece - Chubbywookie
This film is generally considered to be the masterpiece of director Hayao Miyazaki, who is widely looked upon as the Walt Disney of Japan (It is unfortunate that his over 20 feature films spanning three decades are rarely heard of in North America, but we shan't dwell on that here). 'Spirited Away' won numerous awards at the Cannes film festival and other country-specific awards before going on to win the first-ever Academy Award in the Animation category.
As in all Miyazaki films, this movie features some of the best animation ever drawn—done mostly by Miyazaki by hand, The score is done by a legend in his own rite—Joe Hisaishi—who has done all of Miyazaki's movies. The voice acting is absolutely top-notch, having been produced by Disney Animation Studios specifically for the North American release.
The story—written by Miyazaki himself—is fantastic, and pulls you in literally from the opening credits. You grow to love each and every character—even the "bad" guys—in their own way. It is a story of getting lost and then finding yourself again. The themes in the movie are of love, friendship, sense of duty and of family. There could not be a better combination of plot, action, and dialogue.
Any one can enjoy this movie, from the very youngest to the most mature of adults. There is no violence, no sex, no "mature themes" and NO nudity (why people associate Japanese animation with naked girls, I wish I knew).
This is not Sailor Moon or Pokémon. This is truly a nugget of cinema gold. This is quite possibly one of the most satisfying and enjoyable movies ever created. Miyazaki has described this film as his masterpiece, and once you've seen it, I'm sure you'll agree.
